AKLMLEU is a state-based organization formed in 1996 by former licensees in Kollam district with the aim of protecting, stabilizing and promoting the employment of legal metrology licensees. Comrade K.S Indusekharan Nair, an AITUC leader who has been working as the backbone of this organization since its inception, is the president. During this period, 4 governing bodies have been elected and many rights of licensees have been achieved through struggles and organizational strength. In the changing era, this organization and its leadership are committed to bringing the role and rights of licensees to the authorities in the legal metrology department and consumer protection and to achieving them in a timely manner. AKLMLEU is the only organization where all categories of licensees in Kerala are united, regardless of religion or politics.
